We're seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Editor/Producer to join the streaming arm of TEGNA's Central Content team. This dynamic role requires a creative journalist with a passion for storytelling and a commitment to creating engaging and authentic content for a diverse audience. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and versatile self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility for creating compelling, high-quality video content that captivates and informs our growing audiences across our local television stations' streaming apps. They will have a strong background in news production, with a proven ability to edit video and graphics using a keen artistic eye, write effective scripts, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment. This role will involve both editing and producing live and VOD content for TEGNA's streaming apps.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Use editing tools and creative production techniques to create video content
- Develop innovative, engaging and authentic news content for a national streaming audience
- Write clear, engaging scripts that are backed by accurate and reliable research
- Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video and emotional sound to create an engaging experience for our audience
- Challenge traditional ways of doing things
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the overall goals of the team
- Advocate for underrepresented people, communities, and viewpoints to have a voice and presence in our content
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree preferred in journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
- Knowledge of editing systems such as Edius and Premiere
- Experience editing news content and an understanding of the tenets of professional journalism
- Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair, and unique content
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under time-pressure deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Must be able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
- Previous experience with live streaming software (VMix or similar) a plus

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA's 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor's appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
