The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) is the leading national professional medical association dedicated to treating and improving the quality of life for children, adolescents, and families affected by mental health disorders.
AACAP, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 1953. It is a membership-based organization, composed of over 11,000 child and adolescent psychiatrists and other interested physicians. Its members actively research, evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders and are nationally recognized thought leaders in child, adolescent, and family mental health on giving direction to and responding quickly to new developments in addressing the health care needs of children and their families.
