About INS and INCC
INS is an international nonprofit organization representing infusion nurses and other clinicians who are engaged in the specialty practice of infusion therapy. Since 1973, INS has continued its commitment to bringing innovative resources and learning opportunities to a wide range of health care professionals. INS is dedicated to advancing the delivery of quality infusion therapy to patients, enhancing the specialty through stringent standards of practice and professional ethics, and promoting research and education in the infusion nursing practice. With over 5,000 members worldwide, from all practice settings, INS provides the resources needed to navigate the rapid technological advances and dramatic shifts in health care delivery through conferences, online learning, scientific publications, educational solutions, and scholarship.

Established in 1981, INCC offers the only specialty certification for infusion nurses, and upon successful completion of the exam designates the CRNI® credential. The first CRNI® examination was administered in 1985 and there are 2600 CRNI®s. The CRNI® program is nationally recognized and accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC).

Vision: Certification, by INCC, is the standard of excellence that nurses will seek to provide optimal infusion care that the public expects, demands, and deserves.

Mission: INCC promotes excellence in infusion nursing certification by:
• Developing and administering a comprehensive, evidence-based program
• Advocating the importance of the CRNI® credential
• Supporting continuing infusion nursing education and research

INS and INCC are each led by a Board of Directors who oversee association governance and set the organizations’ strategic direction. The CEO works collaboratively with the INS/INCC Boards of Directors to advance the organizations’ missions, provide relevant information for board decision making, and coordinate board participation beyond INS/INCC activities. The INS/INCC CEO manages the organizations’ day-to-day operations and implementation of the strategic plans for 2 separate organizations with distinct missions with a 13-person staff and combined net assets of $6.3M.
